In recognition that world music tours are especially vulnerable to being inhibited by high start-up costs in the US, the globalFEST Touring Fund (gFTF) awards small grants to artists who have participated in the gF festival. gFTF grants offset budget shortfalls in upcoming tours that will bring artists to at least two new markets (cities, states). In keeping with gF’s mission, the gFTF supports the presence of international music in diverse communities in the United States. gFTF awards reimbursement grants in the range of $1,000 to $4,000. Please note: the gFTF is open only to artists who have performed at the gF January flagship showcase.
For details and eligibility requirements please see below.
Congratulations to the most recent gFTF award recipients Daby Touré, Lakou Mizik, The Jones Family Singers, and Tribu Baharu!
Since 2011, gF has awarded nearly $84,000 to 26 groups or 160+ individual artists. Of the 172 markets these groups reached, 96 of them were new to gFTF artists.
The gFTF is made possible by the generous support of the Ford Foundation, as well as our generous individual Indiegogo supporters.
Deadline: January 15th, 2017
