|globalFEST Hangouts are fun, social events for the culturally curious in New York City. These community-building events are a place for people to meet other like-minded music fans while experiencing global music and other related activities in a variety of cultural spaces. gF Hangouts provide attendees with one-of-a-kind experiences that encourage new connections to music and culture, often giving attendees direct access to industry experts or to artists directly. Most events are free or low cost and are open to the general public, but require an RSVP as they often fill up in advance.||
"gF Hangouts allow me to experience music from around the world, meet new people, and connect with artists."

Prospect Park Bandshell
For our first hangout of the year, globalFEST spent Saturday evening with our friends at BRIC Celebrate Brooklyn! Festival. Bombino and Femi Kuti were set to hit the stage that night, but before the show started we set up blankets on the lush Prospect Park lawn and invited the globalFEST community to come hang out with Eric Herman of Modiba Productions, Bombino’s manager. As the sun set on the hottest day of the year, we gathered with new and old friends to hear about Bombino’s culture and musical history.
